Studio Ousia Receives Investment from Samsung Ventures


Studio Ousia Inc. announced that it had raised ¥150 million from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (headquarters: Seoul, South Korea; president: Seon Jong Lee).

Studio Ousia won the first prize at a quiz competition for AI held at NAACL (North American Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics), a leading international natural language processing conference in June 2016. QA Engine has been developed by applying the technology used at the competition. Samsung Venture Investment has been actively searching for and investing in natural language processing and AI related start-ups on a global scale, and Studio Ousia is one of them.

This investment will enable Studio Ousia accelerate the development of QA Engine and its business process. Studio Ousia will further continue to work on most challenging problems in natural language processing as a cutting edge player in the space.
